Mercedes SLK: The Marketing Shop Overview

The new Mercedes SLK is stunning. From its comfy seats to its new retractable hardtop (more on that later), it is a sight to behold. The long hood and protruding center give its engine more room. Sleek lines along the body of the Mercedes SLK give it an athletic look. And if you think the outside looks good, you should see the inside! Leather sport seats, Y-shaped piping and magnesium frames, and silver buttons standing out on a black console make for an appealing interior. And then you take down the retractable hardtop roof with the touch of a button. It's enough to take anyone's breath away in a mere 22 seconds.

But it's just good looks the Mercedes SLK has; its got excellent safety features too. High crumple zones in the front and rear take most, if not all, of the impact of crashes. Fixed roll bars, six airbags, and 3-point seatbelts keep you safe, while looking good. An electronic stability assist and ABS help the driver stay in control also.

The 2007 Mercedes SLK is a highly sought after car. Take the first chance you get to take one for a test drive.

Acura TL: The Marketing Shop Review

The new Acura TL makes a splash in the sports sedan market. The Acura's sleek body design grabs attention on the move. Hailed as gorgeous by the cost conscious and luxury lovers alike, everyone is flocking to Acura dealerships for a tests drive. This car is named "Best in Class," "Best Pick" in frontal impact crash tests, with a five star rating, and was 2005 Consumers' "Most Wanted Vehicle."

Some of the best things about the Acura TL is the "Accelerated Innovation." This car is chock full of new features that blow the competition out the window. It's got a drive-by-wire throttle, sport suspension, and high-friction front brake pads for the best performance one can ask for. But it gets even better.

Some of my favorite features include the built in BlueTooth technology and the Acura Music Link, that allows you to hook up your Ipod in the TL. It not only plays your music, but charges your Ipod's battery while it does it. I'm also a big fan of the TL's sun sensors. They monitor the amount of heat coming into the car and use the car's GPS to locate the sun's position and automatically adjust the temperature according the where the passengers are in relation to the sun. The TL can also recognize your voice. You can tell it to change tracks in the cd player, or tell the navigation system to look for the nearest restaurant. It can recognize over 290 voice commands.

But it's the Acura TL's newest safety features that the public wants. It comes with Vehicle Stability Assist to correct understeer and oversteer, Electronic Brake Distribution, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, and a HandsFreeLink that allows you to keep your hands on the wheel (and eyes on the road!) when you talk on the phone.

The TL also has a large number of child safety features for all those families out there not interested in a minivan. One of the most child conscious(sp) safety features is the Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) System. The LATCH System lets concerned parents (and who isn't one?) tether their child's car seat to the anchors included in between the seat back and the seat cushion for maximum security. For children a little older, there are sensors on the front passenger seat that can calculate height and position. If the child is leaning into the airbag's path, it will be disabled. The windows and moonroof on the TL also are equipped for small children. When closing, if they encounter any resistance, they open back up, to prevent injury to curious fingers.

The Acura TL is a car that is going to set standards for the rest of the sports sedan market. It's got looks, safety, and luxury. It's being compared to 5 series and 6 series BMWs, without the high price tag and lofty maintenance costs. If you want a car that does it all, the TL may just be for you.
